History of the World
A new edition of the Ragnars' classic game (first published in 1991) that covers the rise and fall of civilizations across the world. It's played over seven Epochs from ancient Sumeria to the late twentieth century. Each Epoch, you get to play a new empire that expands from its historical base to conquer part of the world (just how much depends on you – and the dice!). However, you score for all your empires still on the board, according to how dominant they are in their
region (with extra points for monuments!).
The key part of the game, however, is at the start of each Epoch when players decide who should have the Empire they've drawn from the current selection.
The latest edition has been revamped by the designers (and has new artwork and high quality components, courtesy of publisher Rio Grande Games) and offers a no-dice option and alternative strategies.
For 2-6 players, aged 14+, playing time 1-3 hours: £60.00 (£50.00 tax free outside the UK)
