Ace of Aces: Powerhouse series (Alfred Leonardi)

The terrific two-player WW1 dogfighting game returns in a sumptuous new edition, featuring two late-war planes. The aim is to out-manoeuvre your opponent, get them in your sights, shout "dakka, dakka, dakka!" and watch them go down in flames. Very satisfying: £60.00.
 

Commands & Colors: Medieval – Crusades (expansion 1) (Richard Borg)

This shifts the action over 500 years forward from the Byzantine empire of the base game to the Crusades in the Holy Land with 20 scenarios pitting the crusading knights against Turks, Fatimids and Ayyubids: £67.00.
 

Power Grid (Recharged) (Friedemann Friese)

Buy power plants at auction, fuel them appropriately and connect cities on the map to make a grid that's powered by you. Sounds simple, but why amI always one buck short of being able to pay for everything? Friedemann Friese tweaked his masterpiece in 2019 and this is the even better result: £40.00.
 

Sleeping Gods: Dungeons (Alex Davis and Ryan Laukat)

Six dungeon mini-adventures that expand specific sites in the Sleeping Gods atlas. Explore them, defeat the monsters and grab the treasures! £13.00.
 

Viticulture: Bordeaux (Jamey Stegmaier)

A new board for Viticulture that, like Tuscany, expands the game to four seasons and adds some new mechanisms. The idea is to provide a faster-starting, streamlined game where players have more agency. I think it succeeds: £18.00.
